Using a scale of 1 -
5 stars, the VisitScotland (Scottish Tourist Board) Quality Assurance
Scheme gives a clear indication of ambience, cleanliness, hospitality,
accommodation standard and food for a variety of accommodation types,
including Hotel and Small Hotel classifications. A 'Hotel' will normally have a minimum
of 20 letting bedrooms and a drinks licence, and will serve breakfast
and dinner. A 'Small Hotel' will be as a 'Hotel' but normally have a maximum
of 20 letting bedrooms. The member hotels of Scotland by Car are generally
run by the owners and reflect their style and personal input. |

Golf Hotels are able to arrange tee-off times at golf courses in their area. Advance notice may be required. Some hotels may also have special golfing holiday packages and there are sometimes passport tickets valid for a number of courses in a particular area. | |
