The Parklands Hotel is a lovely, family run 4 star hotel only five minutes stroll from the centre of Perth with lovely views over the South Inch Park to Kinnoull Hill.
There are 15 twin or double bedded en-suite bedrooms (standard and superior sizes). Each bedroom has touches of the traditional and modern world such as flat screen freesat television, DVD player and CD stereo, direct dial telephone, hair dryer plus tea and coffee making facilities. Superior rooms are larger than standard rooms and are front facing with views of the gardens and the park. One of the superior rooms has a Jacuzzi bath. There are 4 bedrooms located on the ground floor. Throughout the hotel there is free wireless broadband.
There is a comfortable lounge and the garden & terrace areas have seating so you can enjoy a drink or meal outside during sunny days. The hotel has a fine dining Acanthus Restaurant and the more informal No. 1 the Bank Bistro, both of which offer a wide selection of dishes.
There are several castles you can visit including Blair Castle, Glamis Castle, Huntingtower Castle (a well preserved medieval castle), Menzies Castle and Scone Palace. Perthshire is known as 'Big Tree Country' with many gardens to visit, such as the Perthshire Gardens Collection and the Bells Cherrybank gardens (incorporates the Scottish National Heather Collection).
There are three 18 hole golf courses in Perth, quad biking through the forest, whisky distilleries, theatre and the Perth Races. Perth Leisure Pool is one of the best swimming pools in Scotland, with 3 pools and 2 flumes.
The Parklands Hotel is a consistent award winner, is the proud holder of 2 AA rosettes for dining and has received the Best Bistro Award for 'No. 1 the Bank Bistro' at the Scottish Hotel Awards, the Perth Hotel of the Year in the Scottish Hotel of the Year Awards and The Scottish Hotel Restaurant of the Year.
All in all, a highly recommended friendly hotel with excellent food where you will be extremely well looked after, and which is in an excellent location for a touring holiday, a stop-over on your way north or south, or a wonderful place to relax for a few days and enjoy the delights of Perthshire and The Parklands Hotel.

2. The Green Hotel, Kinross |

Built in the eighteenth century as a coaching inn, The Green Hotel has a traditional style offering Scottish charm and character. It nestles in a quiet spot in the town of Kinross amid the beautiful surroundings of the Perthshire hills.
There are 46 comfortable and spacious ensuite bedrooms, some with views of the hotel's garden which has trees, shrubs, colourful flowerbeds and an ornamental fountain. 4. Westlands of Pitlochry |

Offering traditional charm and elegance with modern values, Westlands is a beautiful Victorian style building in a tranquil setting close to the heart of Pitlochry with its own well-kept garden.
The focus is on excellent customer-care and the well-being of Guests. There are 12 comfortable en-suite bedrooms, stylish yet full of traditional character and elegance with many of them enjoying large windows that hold superb views. There is free private parking on site. Free wifi in bedrooms and public areas.
Westlands offers BED and BREAKFAST ONLY. It does not offer lunches or dinner/evening meals and there is no bar/not licensed to sell alcohol. It has new owners from 2016 and has been completely refurbished. Westlands is graded a 4 stars Guest House/B&B by VisitScotland but was previously operated as a hotel in 2015 and before.
Westlands is set back from Atholl Road beyond the shops at the quiet northern end of the town set in spacious tree bordered grounds and it is a short walking distance (5 minutes or so) to Pitlochry centre with its gift shops, restaurants, friendly inns and pubs. Pitlochry is an ideal base for walkers and hill climbers, surrounded by the beautiful highland Perthshire hills with over 40 miles of scenic way marked trails.

5. The Old Manor Hotel, Lundin Links, Fife |

The Old Manor Hotel has a commanding position overlooking the adjacent links Lundin Golf Course and the sea. There are 23 en-suite standard and sea view bedrooms. The Seaview Restaurant also has panoramic views over Largo Bay as does the lounge and bar.
A 15 minutes drive brings you to St Andrews, the charming coastal towns of the East Neuk of Fife are wonderful to explore, it's about 45-60 minutes by car to the centre of Edinburgh, and there are bus & train connections as well.
There are magnificent golf courses and lovely clean beaches in the area, and the Fife Coastal Path runs past the hotel stretching round the coast from Lundin Links to St Andrews.
This is an excellent location to explore The Kingdom of Fife and enjoy a relaxing stay.
