The Royal Golf Hotel is situated right on the first tee of Royal Dornoch Golf Club.  The hotel has 22 classic & superior en-suite bedrooms, many of the superior rooms overlook the golf course and the Dornoch Firth beyond, with no two bedrooms the same.  

There is quality bistro style dining in the Conservatory Restaurant with food served all day using locally sourced, fresh and seasonal ingredients to create many mouth-watering dishes.  There is an extensive wine list and selection of malt whiskies to choose from as you enjoy the magnificent views across the golf course to the Dornoch Firth.  

The comfortable hotel bar has its own feature whisky wall and wonderful drawings of Royal Dornoch's famous golf holes.

Located in the historic Royal Burgh of Dornoch, the impressive cathedral was founded in 1224 with subsequent restorations.  The famous Scots philanthropist Andrew Carnegie paid for some of the stained-glass windows.  Other buildings of note are the 16th century Bishops Palace and the Old Town Jail.  The town is also reputedly where the last witch in Scotland was burnt, in 1722, commemorated by the Witch's Stone.  Dornoch is about an hour’s drive from Inverness and 20 minutes drive from Tain railway station.

There are 20 golf courses within an hour's drive, as well as extensive hill walking, fishing and miles of award-winning sandy beaches all nearby.  The hotel is happy to arrange tee times on your behalf at local golf courses including Royal Dornoch, Castle Stuart, Nairn, Brora and Tain - just let us know at the time of booking your accommodation.

The Royal Marine is just a minutes walk from a beautiful sandy beach and an excellent links golf course.  

It was originally built as a private country house in the early 1900s by renowned Scottish architect Sir Robert Lorimer and now has 21 comfortable en-suite bedrooms (choice of Classic, Superior and Master bedrooms) and 2 restaurants - The Bistro and fine dining Lorimer's Restaurant.  After dinner, you could enjoy a game of snooker, some gentle putting on the lawn or a romantic stroll along the beach.
